Art Contest

My mom's work put on an art contest for kids aged 5-12. The theme was protecting the sea (okay, not verbatim, but you get the idea). We signed up Peyton and I kept looking for ideas, but never getting around to doing it. We lucked out when she walked home from school with the perfect painting of fish to use. Sweet!!!

So we submitted her cute little painting and called it good. A few weeks later, on the day we were heading to Oregon in fact, we went to the family luncheon for all the kids who participated in Santa Ana. And come to find out, Peyton received a runners up ribbon and a gift certificate to Subway along with a lot of other little prizes. There was a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner, and she was next up, so it was no small feat. She was super stoked and I was pretty impressed too. It was a fun event and one we definitely plan on participating in again in the future if the opportunity presents itself.

At Nana's work for the art family luncheon along with some of the other cousins who participated.
That's her painting right above her head (with the 2 clown fish).
With Nana in the fun elevator.
 Showing off her art booty.
