June Haps

So June is now done... if you can believe it!?! Summer is in full swing around here, and while we haven't done a lot of big things we've been having a pretty good time.

On to my end of the month sum up via photos.

Like I said Jovie just loves babies. And with the influx of babies in the family here the last few months, she has just been in heaven.
Well, I'd be lying if I said it was just her. We've all been enjoying it.

This one as sweet and funny as she is, like any 18 month old can be kinda naughty. Like trying to eat a marker naughty and then get really really mad when you take it away. Have I mentioned how much this girl likes to eat?! Honestly it is exhausting. I swear its all she wants to do all day, but she is also very particular about what she wants and will not touch what I give her, if it is not what she had in mind.

And I know all of you church going moms know the hardship that is a 17 month old in church as I do, so I must confess giving Jovie my phone during 3rd hr in an attempt to listen to the lesson. Sometimes it works and other times not so much. Jovie just turned 18 months at the very end of June and we have yet to make it church and NURSERY due to baby blessings, so we will see how that goes in a week. The bib in the below photos is from the many MANY snacks we provide to keep her happy and quiet as well. Once I am out of snacks I am out of class.
Speaking of church, one of my favorite things about our new house is our close proximity to our ward building and the wonderful fact that we can walk there.
Let's take a closer look at those cuties... I know I am biased but man alive I think they are the most darling girls ever! Plus they are so sweet to one another, making them all the cuter.

With it being summer and all we've been working on our tans and spending a lot of time outdoors, which results in this....
That white bum is my favorite. Peyton completed swim lessons if you can call it that. She didn't swim in the end, but at least got comfortable putting her head in the water. I have to admit that I was a bit frustrated with her lack of progress, and I had to be reminded that she is a timid little thing. However, after some tips from my sister in law Jaime, I am proud to say she can swim now!!! One little tip changed everything and her confidence from swim lessons definitely helped.

As a reward for completing her lessons (which we had to bribe her to go to because she was so nervous as she told me and Sarah) was goggles. She can't swim without them now.

We are also simply LOVING our backyard. It is usually shady and the kids play out there all the time. We eat dinner out there most days and spend a lot of time outside now. It is heavenly. I love the sounds, smells, breeze, our hummingbird friends which are named Buddy and Flower who visit quite frequently.
And like our awesome new backyard we also have our awesome new association complex which we just love! We love seeing the lake and going there. We can't wait for Wes to use his new fishing equipment there (father's day gift). I love walking over and working out at the gym there. We love the pool and spend a lot of our days there. We also love the paddle boats members can take out.

Wes and I had a really fun date night to the movies one night. In my opinion date nights don't happen often enough. I really like this guy and love spending time with just him. He is pretty cool.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, we took my dad (Boppy) and Wes out to breakfast one morning for Father's Day (Fred was working). Because these two guys always complain about how frequently the girls go to The Avocado House for things, I thought it only fitting they get to go there as well.
But we also love our Papa Fred. He came to visit us on his lunch break one day and Jovie was thrilled. She wouldn't stop hugging him. About melted my heart.

We've also gone to our new library for story-time... and sadly I don't like this one quite as much as our old Perris library. The librarians are weirdly strict, pick terrible stories and don't take an interest in the individual kids. Mrs. Linda knew my kids, their names, what they liked and always talked to each of them, it helped we were usually one of only a handful that went, but I really liked that. I keep thinking I should be a story-time librarian, I think I would be really good. Luckily, Peyton likes everything, including this new story-time. She loved the day they brought in a tortoise and her babies and let the kids hold them for a moment.

I know I mention this in almost every post lately, but my life is changed now that my girls like to play together. They keep themselves occupied for a long time and I don't have to do much but laugh when they show me things and sometimes provide a toy or two they can't find. It is awesome how much they like each other and best of all they really never fight.... yet.

Don't get me wrong I still have to play a lot, but it is changing and in a good way. And the messes are getting much bigger along with this freedom.

One thing Peyton loves to do alone is count her money from her piggy bank.
She also loves to read before bed, and as long as it helps her nap I love it too. And as you can see, it usually helps her fall asleep.
The kids love their cousins. I mean LOVE their cousins. One day we went to Grammy's house and after these 4 got filthy outside playing together, Grammy gave them a bath. I thought it was pretty cute to see the 4 of them in there together.
We got invited to a birthday/farewell party for a little girl in our old ward. Peyton was thrilled to see her Broberg cousins there. Here they are playing the Olaf game of trying to make Asher into a snowman. All 3 of them got super frustrated with it when the toilet paper kept breaking. These competitive kids were the only ones getting really mad in the game. I can't imagine who they get their competitive spirit from?! It is soooo not a Todd trait.
Jovie is still a little jokester. Not only does she still have and use a pacifier (which she calls her mokey) sometimes she uses 2. lol
Like I said.... jokester.
And with our love of the outdoors we have also been discovering a lot of new bugs. Wes found a grasshopper and was trying to show Peyton, so Jovie followed over. The grasshopper jumped away from Peyt and Wes and right onto Jovie. She had no idea it was on her.
And once she did, she loved it!
After a lot of coaxing my sweet tender Peyton into holding the bug her baby sister had been holding, she too loved it.

Heidi invited Peyton to lunch one day with her and the kids and Peyton was in heaven. She loves to copy Asher and Ella and think that everything they do is spectacular. As you can see.... monkey see, monkey do.

Meanwhile Jovie and Tate stayed behind, and we too had a grand ole' time. We ate popsicles and found a Junebug (which I am pretty sure was on the verge of death based on it's movements, or lack thereof). Again, they both thought it was awesome to hold a bug.

And this last one is just because she is cute. And I love this little bug.
