Look How Cute I Am at 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby P is now 10 months old. And, boy is she still so much fun!

-She loves to be silly and make people laugh.

-She has this HUGE super cheesy scrunchy smile face that is my FAVORITE! I am devastated her front teeth are coming in, because that will somewhat ruin "the face". I will miss the fangs.

-She likes to wave "hi" to people. And, loves to be talked to by anyone.

-She is a great dancer.

-She yells and shakes when she sees kids playing (in excitement). Same things with any animal. She wants so badly to join in on the fun. She likes to hug kids and stuffed animals too. She wouldn't let go of my nephew Asher the other day it was too cute. And, anything furry or soft she gets a hold of she holds to her face and shakes so happily.

-I have finally been giving her a bottle lately, because she just loses interest in nursing too fast now. So, I am only nursing in the morning, nights and for snacks, not meals anymore. And, I have to say that I am more sad than she is it seems. (I loved it so much).

-She is a fast little mover, and goes from room to room as she pleases. (Though she still prefers to be carried). And, she still does her little army crawl. She has taken 3 scoots on her knees, but when she wants to go fast she is on her chest army crawling.

-Her sleep schedule now goes something like bed between 7:30-8:15pm --- 7:30-8am ---- nurse --- back to sleep until 9-10am. Still with 1 or 2 naps a day. Depends on how late the naps come.

-She is starting to eat whatever we do, but she still really likes baby food too.

-She is still pretty much all smiles all day. I have the easiest baby ever. :)

This little girl of ours lights up my life. Each day is full of fun, and it has been a blast watching her learn and grow. I am so grateful to be her mama.

Triathlon............ Kindof

Saturday I participated (along with some family members) in the (free) Riverside Stake Tinman Triathlon.

I am sure you've heard of an Ironman Triathlon. That event consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a full out 26.2 mile marathon.

Well, the Tinman Tri is the Ironman's baby.  This event was held at RCC (Riverside campus) and consisted of a 150 meter swim, a 5K or 3 mile run\walk and a 10 mile street & mountain bike finish. I don't feel quite so accomplished though because Wes and I tag-teamed the event, so one of us could stay with Peyton. I did the swim and run (for a total time of around 34 minutes... not good, but I did wake up with a sore throat and was totally sick by the end of the day. //my excuse//) and Wes completed the 10 mile bike ride (which he has no idea how fast he did it in.... silly boy).

We all had a blast... and I can't wait to do it again in upcoming years. I def. recommend doing something similar like this if it even sounds remotely fun. :)

The gals at the end of the total race. My mom did the whole thing at 52 years old--- she's awesome. And, Hayley did the swim but had to leave early to get Ryan to a hockey game.
And these 2 girls are some walking friends of ours, Heidi met from Ella's preschool. They decided to join us too. :)

And no, that is not one of those ironic names for really large people. Yes, if you called me that maybe... but I am talking about my tiny baby.

We took her to her, um.... 9 month apt (she is 10 months on the 25th) and were reaffirmed that we do in fact still have a little baby, as big as she seems to me each and every day.

Her stats:
15 lbs 10 oz (4th %)
27 in long (20th %)
17. 32 in (44 cm) head circumference (41st %)

She has 6 teeth now--- the top two are just poking through, but she has some big fangs on her. This makes me so sad because she has the best scrunchy, fangy smile, that in any circumstance makes me happier.
She is a good little scooter, and rocks a lot on her knees.
And an excellent eater.

My Dr. is worried about her size, but kept saying she looked super healthy, and happy and alert, etc, which put him at ease. BUT, he put her on vitamins, which she HATES! And, even worse, we have to go in next month and get her blood drawn just to double check her thyroid, and everything. I am no Dr. but I think I just have a little girl on my hand, who takes after her dad. Nice and tall and thin, especially because she eats like a mad woman. I am also going to have to write down everything she eats for the next 2 weeks or so, and I will happily share that with you as well.

Bragging Moment

My baby had to be woken up at 11 am this morning to make it to church! Awesome child.

*Disclaimer: I am sick thus still at home. And, we don't set an alarm anymore on Sundays for our 11:00 service, what with a baby who needs to. Ere go, Wes and Peyton were very, very late. Also, we had a very long, busy day yesterday. She was woken up at 6, and never got a full nap in, and finally fell asleep at 8:30ish.

Mr. Perry T-Winkle 1998-2011

Goodbye old friend. You treated me well and deserve a proper send off via the blog.

This last week we bade farewell to my high school vehicle (Nissan Sentra), Mr. Perry T-Winkle, Mr. T for short. Named for his Periwinkle color and the Mr. T bobble head that sat shot gun for years and years thanks to my old friend Jordan Christenson.

Good times shared:
-2 oil changes in the 3 years of high school I drove him
-Running over the plants and sidewalk to leave school, though the gates were closed (he was such a rebel)
-Hitting numerous curbs now that I think of it
-Racing home to try to make curfew
-Getting towed at the beach, Carl's Jr, etc etc
-Wes ripping off his bumper against a moving semi truck
-The awesome swirly sticker that accompanied me from day 1 of my time with him (starting in 2001)
-Driving missionaries around before me... he was an awesome helper
-Getting lost in L.A.
-Numerous drives to Disneyland
-Chauffeuring me and my friends around in high school who did not have licenses

What an awesome car and he was and he will def be missed. Especially now since we are left with a hole in our lives. Literally, we now only have 1 car... and that is a hole in my life. We would love for you to share any fond memories you may have in regards to Mr. T.

Bath Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need I say more? This girl loves her baths.

Monday, May 9, 2011

So my hubby called me this afternoon (interrupting my fun plans to have lunch with my sisters) and asked me to come get him from work (the Menifee hospital). I obliged.

For the last year or so, he's been having these terrible back spasms and neck pains where he can't walk, or move well and everything he does hurts pretty bad. So, as I picked him up, I suggested (since we were there already) he go into the E.R. and have it looked at. His hospital is pretty small so he was able to be taken back and looked at within about 20 min.

Well, after an X-Ray and doctors consult, he was informed he has minor scoliosis and will always have chronic back pain. :(  Apparently, because the top of his spine is bent wrong it pushes 2 of his disks together, which then pinches a nerve in his back, causing the pain. All they did was give him a shot in the butt (by an intern who had to be walked through the process... hahaha) and told him to strengthen his upper back muscles to relieve pressure.

Dang scoliosis!
Here he is waiting for his x-ray in his cute gown, which made him look quite pathetic to be honest. Worst of all, because I had Peyton they wouldn't let me back there with him.

Thoughts on Mother's Day

"There is no greater good in all the world than motherhood. The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation."   - Elder James E. Faust.
This is my first real Mother's Day. Sure, last year I was pregnant with my little babe, and while I def. consider pregnancy a big part of motherhood, it does not even come close to the feeling you get when you hold your little baby and feel their undying love for you, their mommy.

I am so blessed to have my little gal. She is my world, and I can't even imagine life without her here with me. She has the sweetest spirit, and when I look at her I know I am holding someone very special and a true daughter of God.

I keep telling my mom how much more I understand now, why she would sit and stare at me and Hayley walking into school all the time. And, why she always wanted to hold my hand everywhere we went even as an adult... I never really liked it before. But, being a mom now has me seeing the world a little differently. I now know how much every mom loves their little babies. It is more than I could have ever understood before.

So to all you mom's, aunts, grandma's and daughters remember how lucky you are that you get to carry a little baby. That your blessed to be the nurturer, and kiss giver, and cuddler during sick times, fun times, and everyday in between. We are so lucky to have the calling of mother!!!

Going through this.... was totally worth it for this....

Vote for me to be CBO: Red Robin

Dear Voters Across the US of A,

As many of you know I am currently doing the quest to find "the perfect burger". Well, as part of this, I have been browsing places who claim to have the best burgers.,

One that popped up was Red Robin, one of mine and Wes' favorite places to eat (thus our B-day post). And, I came across something interesting. They are looking for a CBO. "What's that", you might be asking yourself? Why, it's the Chief Burger Officer. And, I thought, well, during my quest it is only fitting to be a high ranking official and make my choice really count.

Ere go, I ask that you please go to : and vote for me.

You can vote 1 a day, but as many days as you like. I promise that I will do my best to make "All of your wildest dreams come true" if I am elected. Plus, it sounds fun/funny! :)

Sincerely, your hopeful CBO

All in a Days Work

Peyton was such a big help the other day doing the laundry. :)

Thanks Peyty Pie!
