Braxton Hicks?!?!?!?

So... people keep asking me if I've had Braxton Hicks yet... oh btw I am 33 weeks.

Nope!

Well... just out of curiosity, because I am kind of a pregnancy idiot, I looked up what exactly Braxton Hicks were.

Tightening of the stomach, sometimes a little ball, really not much pain.

Um...

I think I may be having Braxton Hicks every so often after all. I thought it would hurt more if they were practice contractions.

How do you know? Help this little idiot out people... I know nothing. I don't think I am ready for this baby.

You don't really know until your second or third baby. Your probably having them and don't realize it. AND, your not a pregnancy idiot :) EVERY woman asks the same questions...

Yea....my second pregnancy was when I started to realize what they were. Unfortunately, for me, they didn't hurt at all. So they were NOTHING like the real thing. I thought the same thing..... But you will be great!

I felt them. It is just like your stomach getting tight but it doesn't hurt at all. You are not an idiot. I asked my friends a million questions and in a few months you'll be answering other friends questions. :)

I never felt Braxton Hicks and am on my second pregnancy at 32 weeks and wondering if I'll recognize them :) I thought I was an idiot but apparently I'm not the only one!

i never felt them, and I had Wesley at 34 weeks. I was dilated at a 1cm when my water broke, and they said I was having contractions, but didn't feel them. Maybe you are having them, just not feeling them? Who knows....I think most people dont know anything before having their first. Dont worry though...babies are great teachers, and they will teach you really fast all you need to know!! :-)

I have had 3 babies and every one of them were different pregnancies. I say you never know what to expect. You'd think I'd have all this figured out by now, but I don't! Hang in there, I can't believe you're so close!

I had them a TON with Peyton, and this time around I had them earlier and I think even more so. Basically your entire stomach tightens up (not painful) but just extra tight and you can touch it and it feels like you have a rock in your stomach. Mine have never been painful, but sometimes just extra tight. Sometimes your stomach will look really funky too depending on how the baby is positioned, it will make your stomach a weird shape while it happens. Hope that helps!

1. everyone is different.

mine come in two different ways:
1. the top braxton hicks. the belly gets really tide and it's kind of uncomfertable. nothing too painful though...
2. the bottom braxton hicks. the belly gets super tide and i start having menstrual cramp kind of pain. also huge preassure on my privates. those actually hurt the same though not as much as actual labor. it's usually acomplished with backpain.

no worries, you dont need to feel them, but i'm sure you have them!

Oh your not an idiot.. I was an idiot!!! I was 2 weeks away from my due date and I felt them.. didnt know about brax hicks, I thought it was the real deal.. It kinda hurt then it realy hurt. the whole way to the hospital I was thinking I can do this! I can deliver this baby w/o drugs! I got the the hopsital the nurses laughted at me (seriously) "oh honey your not in labor, if you were you wouldnt be standing right now". I went home and 1 day b4 due date I had a shooting pain that brought me to my knees w/ pain. This was the real deal and all the way to the hospital i was yell to drive faster i needed DRUGS ASAP! But labor/delivery was a walk in the park once the meds kicked in. Oh did I mention that my child was delived by my H.S. enemy. Ya now shes a Dr. and I was fat (manatee fat) whimp! she knows what my Who-who looks like, lets just say i was a lil uncomfortable at the 10-yr H.S. reunion.. (embarassing)
wish you the best of luck XoXo Jen
